I Am Strong Challenge
The New Year is often a time to reflect back on the past, plan forward for the future and set targets that you can achieve in the coming months. For most people, these take the form of New Year Resolutions. It seems almost wrong to not commit to setting one – eat less chocolate, do more exercise, use less social media- but almost always, people will find themselves giving up after just a few weeks due to a variety of reasons – tiredness, time or just simply forgetting.
Most people forget that, for cutting out drinking alcohol, for instance, New Year’s Day does actually count once you past midnight. When you factor in the fact we all love to indulge a bit over the Festive season – Terry’s Chocolate Oranges will spoil if not eaten in one sitting – we can all come into January feeling less motivated and driven to commit to our resolutions, no matter how passionately you felt about them before.
The I am Strong Challenge
At Simply Gym, we want to change that mentality and encourage you to keep up your resolution no matter what for the entire year. Rather than setting
a totally unattainable daily goal, that you’ll probably break without realising after just a fortnight, we’ve found the perfect routine to help you embrace change in a positive, measured manner. Most people don’t give themselves enough credit on a daily basis for what they achieve in life, for both little and small things and so we’re championing the ‘I am Strong’ policy to show the world the truth.
Every month, we’ll be promoting a challenge to show the world you are strong, even if you don’t believe it yet. Through a variety of mental and physical exercises, lifestyles and routines, you’ll improve your wellbeing in both body and mind and really help make 2019 your year. It’s fantastic to complete this challenge on your own, but why not spread the feeling of wellness and invite your partner, neighbour, friend or even your children to join you on your quest for a better physical and mental self. Having someone else going through the same journey as you can only help to empower you further and when the going gets a bit tougher, it’s always nice to have someone who understands what you are experiencing.
I Am January Strong
For January, it’s out with the old and in with the new! We want you to try a brand-new workout routine and try to commit to it for the whole month! Although this might seem scary at first, think how rewarding it will feel at the end to add an entirely new workout to your arsenal of fitness and wellness.
You might even want to do some research beforehand and find out who the real fitness stars of your chosen workout are, so you can try and emulate them in any way you can! You don’t have to do it absolutely perfectly, and the best part? If you have a day when you feel under the weather, or don’t fancy doing it – you don’t have to! The whole point of our monthly challenges is to encourage you to exercise how you want and when you want. That said, the more you commit to these challenges in the early stages, the faster you’ll see positive results in both body and mind.
