Breakfasts that Boost Your Metabolism
Scrambled Eggs with Salmon
These two delicious high protein foods combine to provide a filling breakfast that will also boost your metabolism. If you find the taste of scrambled eggs and salmon a bit bland, you can add a kick to it with some fresh or dried chillies, freshly ground black pepper and even a dash of Tabasco sauce.
The high levels of fibre in fresh fruit make this a great calorie burner that will boost your metabolism. Throw different types of fresh fruit into a blender with a generous scoop of Greek yoghurt to make a delicious fruit smoothie that will charge you with energy and keep you feeling full until lunchtime.
This is another great way to enjoy scrambled eggs in the morning. You can add salmon, cheese, chopped onions, tomatoes, beans and a wide range of other ingredients to this quick and easy to prepare dish to make it really filling and tasty.
Quinoa Breakfast Cereal
This healthy grain is great for burning fat and boosting your metabolism. There are numerous different ways to prepare and enjoy quinoa, but one of the best breakfast boosters has got to be hot porridge made from quinoa. Add coconut milk or other types of nut milk to give the porridge a rich and creamy taste and sweeten it with plenty of fresh fruit as well as raw honey.
Wholegrain French Toast Stuffed with Fresh Blueberries
This delicious breakfast treat is high in both carbs and fibre and feels very decadent while also being healthy. Soak your wholegrain bread in a mixture of milk and a little fat before topping the bottom layer with a generous sprinkling of fresh blueberries, topping it with another slice of bread and then frying your sandwich in a mixture of egg whites and canola oil with a little added vanilla extract for taste. Reduce calories by switching out the canola oil for a low calorie oil spray.
