Wanting Group Classes? Make sure to check out Simply Gym !
But are they included in the price of my membership? YES!
But will they have the class I am looking for? YES!
Many gyms offer a whole schedule of group fitness classes that include strength training, core, cardio and group cycling. Some even now offer popular or more specialist classes such as Zumba, Yoga and Pilates. This month we’ve been checking out what our competitors offer by comparison and were shocked with the results.
We noticed several gyms advertising 40 or even 50+ classes per week included free with membership but the interpretation, and transparency of this wasn’t always accurate.
Firstly, gym inductions shouldn’t be included in a studio timetable. Secondly “free” should mean free, not carry a £2 supplement. We looked at one low cost competitor in Walsall which advertises a timetable with 60 classes per week, but on scrutiny we noticed 20 were gym inductions, 8 were 15 minute Abs classes, 20 were only 30 minutes in length (including indoor cycling/ Group Cycle classes) and the 1 Zumba class offered was at additional cost. This only left 11 free classes of 45 minutes per week… some way short of the advertised levels and clearly misleading to prospective members.
At Simply Gym we design our class timetables to deliver classes at times and days that suit our members and only recruit highly qualified instructors to do so.
We run a full range of Cardio and Strength options. Typically 45 minutes in duration, and always offer the latest and most popular choices such as Zumba, Pilates, Yoga, Pump, Combat and Boxercise. Our gyms also always feature dedicated group cycling studios with at least 24-30 bikes available.
If you’ve never taken part in a group fitness class then you’ve likely never experienced the many benefits, including extra motivation from an instructor, 1 on 1 floor coaching, suitable music, and friendly competition.
Personal training isn’t for everyone, but many people still need help with form, accountability, and overall results. Instead of struggling through every workout, or risking injury, why not take a group fitness class which allows you to work with a fitness professional and draw on their knowledge?!
One of the most popular reasons for taking part in a class is the simplest: They’re just great fun!
With music playing and everyone else working with you. Sharing in the struggle and the success, it can feel more like a party than a workout. This is especially true of classes like indoor cycling, Bootcamps and Zumba which are built around high-energy music and a social atmosphere.
Everyone is “in it together” in our group fitness classes. Which naturally lends itself to camaraderie among our members and this is a culture which is found throughout many of our gyms. For people who like to be social, this is an important factor. For those who are competitive. The social aspect is valuable because with a little camaraderie comes friendly competition. Pushing you to work harder than the person next to you.
