Here at Simply Gym we are prioritising our staff and member’s safety. We have redefined our approach to operating Simply Gym facilities in order to provide a safe environment for you to work out.
SIMPLY GYM IS NOW OPEN!
Here are some of the measures and changes that you can expect when we can (finally) welcome you back.
Prevent people carrying infection coming to the gym
If you, or someone you share a household with are showing any symptoms of CV-19, DO NOT COME TO THE GYM.
If you have been contacted by track and trace and have been near someone who has tested positive then please follow government guidelines and stay at home. Simply Gym staff have the right to remove anyone from the facility who shows symptoms or is obviously unwell. If you fail to follow the social distancing guidelines or the policies Simply Gym has put in place then we will ask you to leave with membership suspensions taking place if there are repeated breaches of the rules.
Initially our 24 hour gyms will only open between 6am – 10pm. This will allow for more deep cleaning throughout our gyms and greater control over numbers entering the gym. This is a temporary measure and we will return to 24hr access as soon as it is safe to do so. Some locations may also require time slot bookings for gym access during peak hours, and all classes will require booking in advance. Further information on this will be provided shortly.
Please remember, these are exceptional circumstances and we are doing everything possible to safely re-open and provide a safe and clean facility for our members. If you see something you are not happy with please raise your concerns to a member of staff straight away or email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not take photos, post on social media, or report to environmental health as this may cause damage to the business and stifle your ability to train.
Limiting the density of the number of people in the gym
We are limiting our capacity at our sites to allow effective social distancing. We are in the process of adding a feature to our website so you can track the number of people in your local Simply Gym. Although hitting capacity is unlikely, you may need to queue for a short time. We will introduce a booking system if necessary to prevent the need for queuing. Gyms may add further measures. Please see you local gyms for more details.
Try to avoid peak hours where possible (4pm-8pm weekdays)
Please keep your workouts under 1 hour.
If you wish to attend a class then you will need to book a slot. Please use our Membr App to do so. Classes will be 45 minutes max to allow time to clean down equipment effectively and to avoid crossover of members between classes.
Stop transmission of the virus through the air
Whilst in the gym we ask that you stay at least 1 metre from other members. One way systems will be implemented where necessary to reduce member crossover.
Some of our equipment may be out of use to maintain safe distancing. The kit will be rotated regularly to allow deep cleaning.
Screens will be placed on reception desks to protect our staff.
Pair training will be prohibited unless you are from the same household.
Class numbers will be reduced to allow for safe distancing
Air handling/ extraction in gyms and studios will be improved
Stop transmission through contact and surfaces
Please wash your hands regularly. Wash your hands before, during and after your workout
Sanitizing stations have been placed throughout are gyms and will be found near all touch points
We need you to do your bit… please wipe down ALL equipment before and after use
Stop transmission through contact and surfaces continued…
Please bring a full water bottle for your workout. Bottles of water will be available to purchase if you forget! Please do not drink from taps, fountains or bottle fill stations.
Will will only accept contactless card payments
Improved cleaning measures will be put in place with regular deep cleaning at all sites.
Protecting vulnerable members
Not quite ready to come back? If you require information on how to suspend your membership then please contact your local gym for more info on how to do so.
Staff training and expertise
All staff will be trained to provide a high standard of cleanliness, how to spot CV-19 symptoms and how to ensure a safe environment for them to work and for you to workout in.
